Grey Lynn Car Park

The location chosen for the cross-cultural event is an unloved car park located in the heart of Grey Lynn. The reason why this space is ideal to host the event is because of its location as well as it being a large bare space where we  have the freedom to create the cultural event we have envisioned. The car park is centrally located and has easy access for the local community to walk too. If walking isn't an option then there is plenty of off-street parking.

Although majority of our space will be used for stalls and a stage, Grey Lynn park is located right across the road for locals to take full advantage of the community. It gives more of a reason to hang out and mix and mingle with others living in the area while enjoying some delicious food.

While Grey Lynn park has seen many famous artists and events take place on it grounds we choose this unappreciated car park as it becomes a way to add more value to the suburb. Converting the despised space into a memorable and enjoyable event is a great way to make the most of what Grey Lynn has to offer the people living locally.

The car park is located in a residential area and therefore we will have to look wider into the community to find local businesses. There are residential homes located on three of the four streets bordering the car park. The fourth street bordering the location is Grey Lynn Park

About Grey Lynn

Grey Lynn was established in the 1800s and has a lot of culture behind it as you can see from the historical buildings located in the area.

The busy suburb is filled with many desirable coffee and brunch spots as well as a few popular bar, restaurants and organic grocers.

Grey Lynn community is filled with a diverse range of cultures which is why we believe this location  will be perfect when hosting our cross cultural night.
